12 September 2021

The practice will close at 1300 on Thursday 16 September 2021 for Practice Based Learning with the other practices from North Down & Ards.  Clinical staff will be receiving updates on Andropause, Hypertension and Cardiac Risk while our Clinical Administrators will be attending a session on unconscious bias.

If you have an urgent medical problem that cannot wait until the practice reopens on Friday 17 September at 0830 please contact NDADOC GP Out of Hours Service on 028 91 822 344.  If you have a less urgent problem your local pharmacist may be able to help - see our Choose Well page.  Alternatively it may be appropriate to Self Care until the practice reopens.  Please remember that the GP Out of Hours Service is for urgent problems only, where you cannot wait until your usual Practice reopens.

The Practice is Very Busy at the Moment

27 May 2021

Our practice, like many across NI and the wider UK, is experiencing an exceptional level of demand at present.  We are dealing with an increased number of patients each day and appointments now take longer due to COVID-19 precautions to keep patients and staff safe.  Anyone who wants medical advice or an appointment should first telephone the practice.  The medical team triage calls every morning and anyone needing a face-to-face appointment is offered one.  Due to the number of callers the call lists fill very quickly and you may experience long waits on the phone or have to call back.  We apologise for this.  All of our staff are working very hard to try and meet the increased demand but at times it is overwhelming. If your problem is urgent and the call list is full the Clinical Administrator will ask you specific questions to complete a triage proforma to pass to a member of the medical team for triage.  We thank you for your understanding and we thanks all those who have sent gifts, cards and messages as these positive actions help boost our staff's morale through some very difficult and grueling days.

COVID-19 Vaccination

18 January 2021 (updated 30 Jan 2021)

Please do not phone the practice with COVID-19 vaccination queries. We are experiencing a high volume of such enquiries which is preventing patients with medical problems from getting through on the phones. And our reception staff are being kept from doing their essential work by dealing with these queries.

We did not design this vaccination programme. Our roll is to administer the vaccinations to priority groups when given the instruction by the Health and Social Care Board.  We are inviting patients for vaccination every time we receive a delivery of vaccine. We will contact you when it is your turn. If you have a query please see below our COVID-19 Vaccination page.

Flu Vaccination for Over 50s

24 January 2021

The Department of Health have now given the go ahead to extend the flu vaccination to all patients aged 50 years and over.  We will contact all eligible patients to offer an appointment.  You can learn more by visiting our Flu Vaccination Page
