Flu Vaccinations

15 September 2020

Our delivery of flu vaccines is expected soon.  We will be in touch with all eligible patients to schedule vaccinations as soon as the vaccines arrive.  This year's flu campaign will be especially important because of the pressure the health service will experience if there are large numbers of flu cases and the added burden of COVID-19. Early evidence also suggests that co-infection with flu and COVID-19 is associated with more than twice the risk of death. For regular updates on our Flu Clinics, the Flu Vaccine and Flu illness please see our Flu Page

Prescription Requests - 72 hours

19 March 2020 (updated 21 March & 9 April 2020)

Our colleagues in community pharmacy are under tremendous pressure with increased demand due to COVID-19.  Please allow at least 72 hours for your medicines to be ready after ordering a prescription.  We are all trying our best in very difficult circumstances with reduced staff.  Thank you for you patience and understanding.

Please do not order your medications earlier than required or request more than your usual quantities. Stockpiling is not allowed.  Please do not request medications 'just in case'. There will be plenty of medications to go around at the time of need as long as everyone is sensible and doesn't stockpile.  The Department of Health and the Health and Social Care Board have been very clear about this.  Therefore, scripts for excessive quantities or ordered excessively early will not be issued.  The same applies to orders for inhalers if you do not have asthma or COPD. Scripts should be ordered no more than 7 days before they are due.

Baby Clinic Cancelled - Vaccinations only

19 March 2020

Our usual open access baby clinic is cancelled until further notice. You should only attend on a Tuesday morning if you have a scheduled appointment for a vaccination.  You should not attend if you or your child are unwell or if anyone in your household has had a cough or high temperature within the last 14 days.  The child attending for vaccination should be brought by a single adult.  Other adults and siblings are not permitted to come into the practice. This is to keep social distancing and reduce the risk of COVID-19 for everyone. Thank you for your understanding.

Reception - Restricted Access

11 March 2020

Access to the main Reception area will be restricted to the public for the foreseeable future as part of our COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan and Preparations.

Prescriptions can be ordered online here (if you are registered for Patient Services), via the phoneline ordering system or by leaving your script request in the black post box in the porch.  Please take note of the Coronavirus signs on the front door before entering the porch.  Outside hours prescription requests can be posted through the post box on the front door.

All prescriptions issued will be sent to a nominated pharmacy of your choice.  Please make sure to state your nominated pharmacy when ordering your prescription.

Thank you for your help and co-operation at this challenging time for all of us.
